Big Business "Mind The Drift"
Post-punk veterans Jared Warren and Coady Willis formed this sly LA sludgecore outfit as a stripped-down bass-and-drums duo, but they keep thinking bigger—in 2006 they became official members of the Melvins; in 2007 they went on tour with Tool; and last year they recruited Toshi Kasai to play guitar. Accordingly, Mind the Drift reveals a serious expansion of the Big Business sound: Though each of these tunes is still built atop a lumbering low-end groove, tracks like “Gold and Final” and the nearly 9-minute “Theme from Big Business II” ascend to trippy psych-metal heights any Hawkwind fan could love. – Revolver Magazine
